She holds a PhD in Infant and Early Childhood Development with a focus on Mental Health and Neurodiversity. Before her work in professional development, Dr. Barthen owned a licensed family childcare program and served as an Early Childhood Special Education teacher in public schools. Her work is grounded in child development theory, adult learning principles, and a deep commitment to helping educators build confidence, strong relationships, and inclusive, high-quality practices.
